responding in times of crises

Emergency Response
In the face of escalating crises, ADRA Lebanon remains steadfast in its commitment to providing immediate and comprehensive humanitarian assistance to those affected by conflict and displacement.
Initial Response
Following the outbreak of hostilities in 2023, ADRA Lebanon’s emergency response teams swiftly mobilized to deliver essential aid to affected communities. Collaborating with local authorities, the Internal Security Forces (ISF), and volunteers from Middle East University, ADRA distributed hot meals, water, and essential supplies to shelters housing displaced families. In partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), ADRA provided food parcels and electronic vouchers to vulnerable individuals, ensuring access to nutritious food. Educational support was also prioritized, with the distribution of textbooks, uniforms, and school supplies to displaced children.
Ongoing Network Response
As the crisis deepened, ADRA’s global network intensified its efforts to address the evolving needs of affected populations. In Lebanon, this included the rehabilitation of shelters, restoration of communal kitchens and restrooms, and provision of winterization kits to help families cope with harsh conditions. Psychosocial support was also a priority, with recreational activities for children and mental wellness sessions for parents organized to alleviate the emotional toll of displacement. Additionally, ADRA focused on restoring water and sanitation facilities, benefiting over 500 people with access to clean water through the installation of solar-powered pumping stations.
A Coordinated Effort
ADRA Lebanon’s response is part of a coordinated effort within the ADRA network, ensuring that aid is delivered efficiently and effectively to those in need. The agency continues to collaborate with national and international partners to provide comprehensive support, encompassing food security, shelter, education, water, and psychosocial services. Through these collective efforts, ADRA remains dedicated to alleviating suffering and supporting the resilience of communities affected by conflict and displacement.
