responding in times of crises

Emergency Response
In the face of escalating crises, ADRA Lebanon remains steadfast in its commitment to providing immediate and comprehensive humanitarian assistance to those affected by conflict and displacement.

Initial Response

Following the renewed escalation of hostilities in Lebanon in March 2026, ADRA has been actively responding to the urgent needs of displaced families across the country.

In response to the growing crisis, ADRA Lebanon activated its National Emergency Management Plan (NEMP) and Emergency Response Team in March 2026. The organization has conducted rapid needs assessments and launched emergency interventions in shelters and host communities.

With its NEMP funds, ADRA Lebanon provided hygiene kits, dignity kits, and water containers to 432 families, approximately 1,944 individuals, in shelters.

Local Partnerships

Through a partnership with Tahaddi, a community-based organization, ADRA Lebanon distributed bedding items to displaced families facing critical shelter shortages. Initially, 160 individuals received mattresses, blankets, and pillows, while additional support continues for more than 200 people.

In April, ADRA Lebanon implemented the Seventh-Day Adventist MEU Church Response, supporting 438 displaced people through food and hygiene e-vouchers. This assistance enabled families to purchase essential food and hygiene items according to their most urgent needs through a partner supermarket network.

Scaled-up Response

In partnership with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB), ADRA Canada, and other ADRA Network offices, ADRA Lebanon provides three monthly food e-vouchers to 1,090 highly vulnerable displaced families — representing 4,905 individuals — living outside formal displacement centers.

In addition, with support from Polish Aid and ADRA Poland, ADRA Lebanon is extending food assistance to another 1,565 internally displaced persons using the same e-voucher approach.
