In Baalbek, ADRA’s intervention has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for both refugee and host communities. By installing a 500 cubic meter water reservoir, the organization has provided over 5,800 households with reliable access to improved WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services, addressing a crucial need often neglected in crisis settings. Additionally, ADRA has implemented a sustainable solution by installing a 10,000-liter water tank in Dalhamiyet-Zahle, directly benefiting 41 tents and 220 individuals, thereby guaranteeing consistent access to clean water for the community.

Elevated Water Tank

A 10,000 Liters elevated plastic water tank was installed in an informal tented settlement in Dalhamiyet-Zahle, Bekaa, In total 41 tents (about 220 individuals) benefited from the tank and access to sufficient and sustainable water.

Wash Intervention in Baalbek Region for Syrian Refugees and Lebanese Residents (WIBSL)

Refugee and host communities in Baalbek now have secure access to improved WASH services and improved quality of life. This was ensured through increasing the availability of sufficient water supplies to vulnerable communities through the construction of a sustainable water resource (a 500 cubic meter water reservoir) which now benefits about 5,800 households.

Disinfection Kits

ADRA distributed 70 disinfection kits to 70 families living in Informal Tented Settlements (ITS), as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

The project aimed to have access to adequate drinking water in sufficient quantity to reduce morbidity and mortality, as well as to increase dignity and quality of life for Syrian refugees and host-communities.

Shelter Rehabilitation and Garbage Bins

ADRA Lebanon in partnership with ADRA Czech Republic distributed 700 plastic garbage bins (240 Liters) to 700 households in Al Faour village - Zahle district in coordination with the Faour municipality. In addition solid waste awareness sessions were conducted to the community after bins distribution.
